The Social Marketing Manager, Americas has extensive knowledge of social platforms along with how social channels can be optimized with high-quality content to create best-in-class experiences that drive greater customer engagement.
The Social Marketing Manager, Americas is instrumental in helping Microsoft Americas grow our local social engagement across Latin America (LATAM), Canada, and the U.S.
This role helps local campaigns take a customer-centric approach to social engagement programs and works with the Global Demand Center (GDC) to leverage corp. provided content across 22 owned handles that reach millions of current or prospective customers.
The role leads development (via creative agency management), oversight (inclusive of budget management and quality control), and approval of local social marketing plans, adhering to global social processes and brand guidance for all CMO social channels.
You will maximize marketing investments by using global content and services to deliver a consistent customer experience.
Responsibilities of the Senior Marketing Manager
- Integrated Marketing Planning – You ensure local social marketing plans leverage Global Demand Center (GDC) strategy, execution frameworks, and marketing technology (MarTech) capabilities to drive business priorities via local social marketing engines. You align marketing tactics to marketing objectives and relevant metrics.
- Regional and Local Social Media Crisis Management – You escalate issues requiring Social Media ‘blackout’ or response management and coordinate local stakeholders to promptly mitigate and resolve crises requiring a Social Media response.
- Social Channels – You manage local social channel footprint and identify opportunities for consolidation. You ensure adherence to global social channel standards, accessibility, privacy, brand, and social account security compliance guidelines, in all CMO social media owned channels.
- Manage Americas Editorial – Develop and execute social marketing strategies on owned handles across LATAM and Canada, and on request-based channels in the U.S., coordinate with centralized community managers, and leverage tools like Sprinklr to plan/publish content leveraging global assets and net new content.
- Manage Content Production – Manage creative agency inclusive of budget management, content reuse strategy, and translation across the Americas.
- Manage Paid/Boosting – Ensure paid investments are efficient and driven by campaign objectives to reach target audiences.
- Collaborate with Business Partners – Including GDC Americas Lead, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) campaign teams, and content teammates to build connected social plans and manage shared resources.

Required/Minimum Qualifications
- 2+ years of development/production of social media content experience.
- 1+ years of experience managing a budget.
- Business-level fluency to read, write, and speak Spanish and English.
Additional Or Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years experience in corporate social media management including paid social AND Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field
- OR equivalent experience.
- Thorough understanding of current and emerging social media platforms, tools, and analytics, with a keen eye for social media trends and storytelling opportunities.
- Program management and organizational skills, with the ability to work and problem-solve independently, and manage multiple tasks, across multiple Americas time zones, effectively.
- Understanding of commercial marketing principles.
- Business-level fluency in reading, writing, and speaking Portuguese and/or French
