Work as a remote Chief Operator for Climate Cardinals and make up to $75,000 per year
Who: Must reside in the United States, Must have a Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field, Preferred one year of postgraduate experience, Must be able to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods

The Chief Operator is responsible for ensuring that Climate Cardinals grows, achieves fundraising goals, and that all verticals operate smoothly.
The Chief Operator will serve as Climate Cardinals’ first full-time employee and will be critical to the organization’s internal and external growth.
This is a remote full-time position, with a one-year contract subject to a performance review at the end of the first year and the opportunity to renew the contract after one year based on performance.
Responsibilities of the Chief Operator
- Provides strategic guidance and direction for growth as well as internal and external operations of the project
- Oversees fundraising efforts, grant applications, and donor relations to secure funding for programs and operations
- Maintains public-facing financial records and prepares bi-annual records for Climate Cardinals’ fiscal sponsor, President, and Vice President
- Manages the organization's budget, including accounting, forecasting, monitoring expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities
- Manages principal external communications of the organization.
- Serve as an intermediary between partnership relationships and the organization at large.
- Perform regular record-keeping of organizational progress and partnership satisfaction.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages innovation and creative solutions.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising, specifically applying for philanthropic grants and securing corporate sponsorships.
- Additional experience in forecasting, accounting, and financial reporting.
- Recommended prior experience in organizational development and hiring.
- Additional experience using team management software.
- Additional experience in project management.
- Ability to develop timelines and budgets and maintain long-term partner relations.
- Understanding of and demonstrated interest in climate education.
- Cultural competency and attention and care for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Recommended prior experience in the social impact sector.
- Self-motivated.
- Able to work well with a team and adapt to changing priorities.
