Funded cultural learning program during Spring 2024 in Japan
Who: 15–35, All nationalities, Able to fully commit to the program, Able to adapt to new environment easily, Strong writing/public speaking skills, Min. 2 of these social media accounts (IG, Facebook, TikTok, or Youtube channel), Conversational in English, Healthy physically and mentally

The Japan Culture Camp by AYFN is a cultural learning program designed to give cultural and social awareness to participants. This program enables participants to learn about Japanese culture in line with making a friend directly.
This program is also an avenue to enhance knowledge and skills to face globalization. This is not a student exchange, but a youth and cultural exchange exposure program.
This camp will take place in Tokyo from April 21 – April 26, 2024.
Participants will start their program at 7.30 a.m – 5.00 p.m every day (day 2 – day 4). In the evening, participants will have free time to explore the magnificence of Tokyo or go shopping.
What are some of the activities winners will participate in?
- Cultural tour activities, e.g.: Japanese Calligraphy, Macha Experience, Origami Making
- Visit interesting places in Tokyo, e.g.: The National Museum of Nature and Science, Ueno Park, Myojin Kanda Shrine
- Taste authentic Japanese cuisine (sushi, udon, ramen, etc)
- Visit Tokyo Sky Tree
How does the Japan Culture Camp funding work?
There are two funding levels – self-funded and fully-funded scholarships.
Self-funded candidates will pay for their expenses for this cultural experience. Fully funded candidates will be required to pay a non-refundable selection fee.
Full-scholarship winners will receive:
- Flight expenses (Up to USD 1,000 for round trip ticket)
- Visa fee (if needed – max USD 50)
- Pre-departure Japanese Language Class (online)
- Accommodation in Japan (6D, 5N) with 2 people per room
- Meals: Breakfast (4x), Lunch (3x), Dinner (1x)
- Pickup (Asakusa Station)
- All activities indicated on the schedule
- Entrance ticket to tourism spot
- Local transportation (Train)
- Certificate of participation from AYFN
- Program supervision
- In-country administration costs
Note that this scholarship does not include a passport, dinner, personal insurance, and personal expenses.
